Earlybird is now a member of techUK, the trade association for the UK technology industry. We build AI for frontline public services, and techUK works closely with government, so it's a good place for us to be.
What is techUK?
techUK brings together companies and organisations working in digital technology across the UK. It has more than 1,000 members, and over 600 of them are small or medium-sized businesses.
It works with government on tech policy and skills, and on what it calls a smarter state. Members get involved through working groups and events.
Why did Earlybird join techUK?
Earlybird makes voice-powered AI for frontline citizen services. Employment advisers, housing officers and social workers use it to spend less time on admin and more time with the people they support. The organisations we work with deliver employment, skills, health, housing and justice services, often under contracts with local and central government.
techUK runs programme teams for local public services, central government, skills, and AI and data. Our work touches all four.
We also joined to contribute. Advisers and caseworkers tell us plenty about where AI helps them and where it falls short. Through techUK we can pass that on to the people who shape policy and procurement.
What happens next
Earlybird was at techUK's Local Public Services Innovation Summit in September. Over the next few months we'll be joining the working groups closest to our work. When we have practical findings from frontline teams worth sharing, we'll publish them through techUK's member channels as well as on this blog.
If you're in the public sector and thinking about buying Earlybird, we're on G-Cloud 15 too. Here's how buying through G-Cloud 15 works.
